Long HDMI Cable
As many tests have shown, when you want to connect your home entertainment equipment together, basically any cheap HDMI cable will work fine - in fact just as well as one costing 5 times the price.
This holds true for normal cable lengths of less than about 10 feet. If however, you need to run a long length of HDMI cable you may have trouble getting a 1080p (HD) signal, since 1080p requires a large amount of sustainable bandwidth. For cable lengths of 10' to 15' or more, some experts recommend purchasing a well-known brand. It is possible to buy very long cables (from 40' right up to 200'), which have built-in boosters to deliver a clean, reliable signal. Unfortunately, they can be very expensive (around $160 for a 40' cable, $340 for a 200' one). They work using a small repeater (which draws its power from the 5v line of the HDMI lead) in the TV end of the cable, which amplifies the signal.
